The 2008 Miamisburg, Ohio Turkey Trot run and walk took place at 8:00 a.m. today (Thanksgiving), celebrating their 30th anniversary of this event. Those participating today were nearly 7,000 in number! Travis and Julie were the only two Starnes who signed up for the run this year, and they were unable to make it due to a last-minute change in Travis’ work schedule Friday night. That left two tickets unused and Judy and Roger (Jr.) took the opportunity to run/walk in place for Travis and Julie.

Both Judy and Roger did well. Roger had not run for over two months, but managed to run without stopping except for getting a cup of water at the 2 mile point. Mom (Judy) fought knee pain, but forged on and completed the walk in better time that she remembered from last year.

• Travis Starnes (AKA Roger Starnes Jr.) finsihed the 5 mile in 50:41
• Total runner/walker finishers this year were 5,527!

It was a good day to run and good weather, though it was just 22º prior to the start today. Thanks Travis and Julie for lending your registrations to us!
