Scott’s Mazda 3 Speed
Okay, my buddy Scott has had more than his share of cool cars since I’ve known him. Speed, performance and comfort have all been in the mix one way or another. He also shares my passion with all things related to motorcycles.
However, after a series of Mustangs in the past few years, and a WS6 Firebird before those, he has moved into the Asian markets. First it was for fuel efficiency, but too long in a base Accord can weaken a man! It was horrible. Next, it was a Mitsubishi Evo AWD with a turbo – very quick and fun. Then it was the Mazda Speed. The car acquisitions may be out of order, I can’t keep up, but he ended up sticking with the Mazda. It is cozy, decent on gas (foot out) and still has get-up for sure.
While there has been interest in getting in some track time, he FINALLY made it to the track at Kil-Kare speedway in Xenia, Ohio tonight for the first time. I’d heard too many other times how he planned to go, but something always seemed to come up, and he could not run.
Today the weather was pretty nice, but it was a bit humid and warm, still he managed to get on the track tonight! Said he pulled in straight from leaving work, went through tech and then to the line in quick succession. Said first pass was best, then it just got slower due to temps and humidity. Good job Scott! – now the FedEx guy will be stopping by work frequently with car mods…
