Almost 3 Years!
In July, it will have been 3 years since we bought this house on Port William Road. Amazing how much has been done. I hope to have a now-and-then photo set soon. Still have some window work to wrap up, a garage roof, gutters and the work we just began on the barn stalls. So much has already been done.
Below you can see some ‘green’ recycling in action! Okay, part of it is trying to save some money too. For some reason, the stalls in the barn had two doors on each stall. That is not typically how barns are done, they typically just have one door for each stall.
About half the stall doors are damaged from the previous home owners (and their alpacas) so today I disassembled the bad doors, and used the tongue-in-groove boards from the doors for the wall paneling (it is the same). Just 2 12′ 2x4s and 2 10′ paneling boards ($21) fixed two stall doors. Now they are walls.
The photo shows the very dirty barn, but you can see the old door, now wall, on the left, and the second door on the right. I’ve turned two doors back into walls, but have 3 more stalls to go! Always something to do, but it keeps me healthy and from being too wealthy!
