Bear Track on Bear Wallow Trail

Bear Track on Bear Wallow Trail

We snuck away for a weekend in West Virgina at a place called Camp Creek. While hiking yesterday, we went up some pretty remote trails and even lost the poorly marked trail a few times. In one particularly high (remote) spot on the trail, Katie pointed out this bear print right beside a rather large buck print. Also saw some bear ‘skat’ that looked to have a lot of deer fur in it – yikes!

We made it back and saw no bear. Great LONG walk, proud of James for the hike.

The photo above doesn’t look that impressive, but my hand is about 2 feet off the ground. The bear track was nearly the size of my hand.
