Big Foot at Caesar Creek Lake?
Mom shared a rather spooky story of a weird encounter at Caesar Creek today. While curious about what she mentioned (added below), I found the story below that adds some interest to what she mentioned. Not that I am a believer in Big Foot, it was the first story I found online that mentioned Caesar Creek, deer, and scary sounds. Whether you laugh or scratch your head, it is interesting (and spooky)…

Mom’s encounter yesterday morning, in her words…
I was so excited about having enough time to go to the park this morning and that it was so warm. I headed to the park hoping to at least get a mile in. On the way I realized it was still dark and would be for some time. Thought it might lighten up enough to get the walk in.
So, I pulled into the lot and staring back at me is a large herd of deer, saw the eyes first. Some lounging, some grazing, some just standing. I get out of the car. They had all started WALKING away by then.
Did my stretches and headed for my usual route. But, I could not see the sidewalk and kept hearing something moving around nearby. I doubted the deer would attack, but….so I headed the other way. That is when I heard a loud, eery screeching. Sort of like a turkey being attacked or a old mad hen. But, it was VERY loud. Sounded like it was in the woods. It was ugly sounding. I thought to myself that whatever was attacking that animal was probably more interested in that than me. So, I kept walking.
That is when it seemed the sound got closer. I stopped and listened and then started walking again. But, the sound kept sounding closer. O.K., so I head back to the car. Walking. The sound even closer. I blew my whistle. No idea why I took it, never do, but I must have felt a bit more vulnerable without my Mandy [Mom’s dog]. I could not tell if the noise stopped or not. I kept walking and it still kept sounding nearer. I start running and the sound closed in faster. eeek I jump in the car and turn it on hoping to see something in the lights. Notta.
I decided to head home. Going in later is nice, but the traffic isn’t, so figured I needed to get home and get ready. As I was leaving, I saw a skunk running from the area I had intended to walk. Glad I didn’t for many reasons.
Several years ago, a very similar event happened late one night at my brother’s house outside Gallipolis, OH. More on that later…

July 25, 2012 at 9:20pm. My boyfriend and I had been fishing in a remote spot at Caesar Creek. We hiked about 5 minutes through the woods to get to this spot. We arrived at our spot about 8:15pm and fished until about 9:10pm. As the lightning and thunder was getting closer, we thought it best to pack up and head back to the car. My boyfriend (Army Veteran about 6’2″ and 225lbs) was tying our poles together when about 30 feet behind us – in the woods – we heard the most horrifying sound either of us have ever heard. It was very deep-gutteral-growling/hiss… We carry extremely bright flashlights and I shined mine toward the sound. We both saw glowing GREEN eyes about 5-6 feet off the ground – in the woods. It was dark enough, with the storm moving in, that it was DARK. But we both saw these green eyes – 5 to 6 feet off the ground. We later estimated the eyes were about 6 inches apart. This “thing” did this deep growling hiss again like it was “threatening” us. We heard some movement and saw the eyes moving again and still about 5-6 feet off the ground. We gathered up our stuff and walked around the ‘other’ direction and made it back to our car. All the way to the car – we felt like we were being watched. What the H is 5-6 feet tall with GREEN glowing eyes that are set about 6 inches apart??? Neither one of us have EVER heard a sound like this before. It “sounded” HUGE.
I saw the green eyes in summer of 2010 on that peninsula near there. Sounded like a squealing/dying pig then snarls growling and hissing. It was through the woods about 100 -150 yards away when it first started, then it moved closer busting limbs/branches coming through the woods towards me sounding giant I told my gf we need to leave. Shined the light across a little pond and saw the eyes they stared back at about 15-20 yards away I could hear deep heavy breathing it was tall and eyes as big as walnuts or bigger 5-8 inches apart and moved horizontally while looking then it moved off in the direction we had to take back to the car. Scariest moment of my life felt as if someone dropped me in the raptor exhibit on jarassic park, I believe it was definated something “out of this world” or not known or recognized by society. Cats shine green reflective eyes and so do reptiles, there’s a story about a 40 ft lizard that drug a kid off back in the day “legend of the cross wick” I also contemplated it being a spiritual thing like a demon. Idk I think about it every day and when I speak of it it gives me cold chills. . . Google search /YouTube now and then to follow up but nothing new so far, it’s been in same area tho multiple years. Also they shut down that part of the park for “ E. coli “ not long after strange to me. Idk whole things Erie.
Wow! Thanks!
july 22 2014 moon phase was almost dark of the moon
foggy morning in low areas at Caesar Creek lake.
it was around 5:25 am just before daylight.
i know these facts for one reason we were going to check our catfish lines
at the lake real early this day. funny thing is we saw no deer or rabbits in the area
and this is very odd as we normally do. ok now how we found this site.
after the wife and spoke of such event she did random google and found this post above and it reads almost identical to our event. was it a big foot i cant say
but i will say this. FEAR was in my inner most being. i no longer felt as the MAN.
i am a avid deer hunter and fishermen, steeped in hunt/gather ways of life.
this animal made a sound so deep and loud it made FEAR rise up inside me like never in my life. i felt as if i could not protect my wife kinda fear feeling.
i have never heard a animal make this sound in 40 some years of walking the dark woods in ohio to texas,or west to new mexico,it is on thing to be scared in the dark BUT FEAR is a whole different feeling i am not use to. so ingrained inside of me like this. way back in time men lived in caves we must have knew to fear this sound as it was not good.here is the location of event

I saw a black sasquatch on Caesars Creek state property while I was bow hunting. It was sitting in a tree. I was with my son and my son shot an 8 pt. buck and we got down to field dress the deer in the dark. After that we made our way out of the woods unscathed. I reported this sighting to the game warden. The male sasquatch are territorial and will make verbal hissing growling noises to make people leave. I would never go in the deep woods alone but always be with 1 or 2 other people and a weapon. These creatures can see the difference between human males and females. They view females as the weaker person. These animals are there for the abundant food supply of fish, deer, berries and other vegetation that gives them nutrition. They are mostly nocturnal but have a day watcher to alert the clan of oncoming people. I do believe they know what a shotgun does during gun season for deer and pheasant and are afraid of them.
