Busy weekend!
Friday night, Rachel and the kids took our old Argosy camper to Caesar Creek’s horseman’s camp to camp and ride horses all weekend. Her brother wanted to ride some, and was on vacation, so they were going to ride. Then Rachel’s sister, Misti, called some relatives and by the time it was done, there were nearly 20 people riding horses, and hanging out at camp (in the heat).
Rider by rider, Rachel kept getting people on and off horses to ride the trails. In tending to everyone else, she managed to get nearly bucked off once or twice, and got stepped on by at least two horses. Her foot was not looking so good tonight.
I got up early on Saturday (after sleeping in a house with A/C!) and headed over to my grandma and aunt’s duplex in Vandalia to help them move. Grandma was going to move in with my mom and dad for a while, and my aunt was moving in with her son and his family for a while, until they both found other arrangements.
The day was hot, the moving truck was small, and we had a lot to move. We ended up taking two loads to a storage locker for grandma, then took the rest to my cousin’s house. I got to Viv and Grandma’s house that morning, around 8:30, and we weren’t done until around 4:30. We did score some free El Toro courtesy of my aunt (thanks Viv!). MMMMMMMMM! I love El Toro’s Mexican food! Though the salsa was a bit less spicy and the food a bit more bland than normal.
It was a hot, sweaty, hard day, that I am sore from today, but it was good to be able to help out. I hope that everyone is happy with their situations, and can cope well.
Thanks to Dave, Dan, Grandma, Viv, Norma, Levi, Mom, Dad, Andrea, Jeff, Emily
This morning, I stopped by the horseman’s camp to get the kids on the way to church. We had class and worship, then I had a business meeting at church, and we had lunch at Abe and Linda’s new house. Looks great! Came home, helped Rachel work on the trailer for a while, as they are leaving again on Tuesday morning to camp at Mammoth Cave, KY. Did that for a while, then me and the kids went on a canoe trip on the Little Miami with River’s Edge on US 42. Great time, for such a short distance.
Now I am tired, the kids are out, Rachel is about gone, and the dogs need fed. TTFN!
