For the past several months, closer to a year now, work has been going on steadily at Caesar Creek Lake, just north-west of the US 73 bridge that crosses the lake. The project? A new marina, docks, walkway, and boat refilling station for those who visit Caesar Creek Lake (learn more about the project here).

• SPECIAL NOTE: THE MARINA IS NOT OPEN YET

Other plans include an lodge at Caesar Creek Lake one day too, but for now the dock and marina is a very BIG step forward for visitors and especially for boaters! The proximity of the new marina to the beach and covered picnic area by the beach will also help improve those areas too.

For the past several weeks as we drive past the lake as we go to church in Waynesville (from Wilmington), I’ve been wanting to get some photos to share with those who have not been in the area for a while. So yesterday (02/06/16), my son James and I stopped at the Caesar Creek pond and walked over to the new marina area for some spy photos. The work is really coming along and the facility will be very nice!
