A Fresh Coate of Driveway Sealer!

We have done a LOT of work to this house since we bought it in 2006! Any of you who saw the condition this place was in at that time, know what I mean. It was a rental for years, then sat vacant for years. Thankfully, we have been able to fix much of it.

I have wanted to reseal the driveway for the past 3 years, as it is to its limit. Gravel is turning up everywhere, and the cracks around the sides are deep. When we got our new washer, we just added some sealer to the bill.

Tonight I got a break in the weather and put down my first 2 (of 20) 5 gallon buckets of driveway sealer. It will take it all, and perhaps more, but I am very happy I am doing it this way! The alternative was to have a team of guys come out here to spray it. The folks at Home Depot said that sprayed sealer has about 1/10 the life of squeegeed sealer. I am using the squeege, and can tell it would not have lasted long the other way.

I owe my neighbor thanks for letting me borrow his pressure washer! Thanks Jason! The kids will like it too, once the bikes and roller-blades are flying over it. Oh, and I was able to do enough of the driveway for a cat to walk across it! DOH!
