Higgins Roofing

Following the winds of hurricane Ike, we lost one of our light panels in the roof of the barn. It was a fiberglass panel that was shaped the same as the steel on our barn. Trouble was, no one made that style around here at the normal locations (Lowe’s, Home Depot, TSC, or Ace).

Hillsboro often has some good farm equipment stores, so we went there this morning, hoping to find the style we needed. Our first location did not have them, but they suggested a place off of SR 50, just west of Hillsboro called Higgins Steel Roofing Building Materials and Rentals.

This place is great! They carry a wide variety of steel colors and styles, light panels in 9′, 12′ and I think they said 16′ sizes, as well as party rental supplies, bee keeping supplies, and more.

If you need something you just can’t find at Home Depot, Lowe’s or TSC, try Higgins. We got a 38″ wide clear plastic skylight panel that was 12′ long for about $47. The largest they had at Lowe’s or Home Depot was about 8′.

By the way, when folks tell you to ‘keep driving, you’ll see the sign’ – believe them! You can’t miss it!
