Before and after Huck and Hester’s picnic extravaganza, the Starnes family here in Wilmington proper were running to and from the historic Murphy Theater in Wilmington, for the Wilmington Performing Arts piano and dance recitals.

Our own Katie was doing both: piano at 1:00 and dance at 7:00. She did great! The group of folks with the WPA are great! Many of the students were moving off to college or going for careers in the performing arts.

Here is a photo of the Murphy’s marquee at night (bad shot). The theater is great, but needs more money to help continue the renovations. If you have ever seen Lost in Yonkers, you’ve seen the Murphy Theater and downtown Wilmington, Ohio. Did you know that?
