Whether she likes it still, or not, I still call Cassidy “Strawberry”. I can’t recall if it is due to her liking Strawberry Shortcake (the cartoon), liking grandma Starnes’ strawberry shortcake (dessert) or because she likes them?

Either way, until she is old enough to ask me to quit, that is my nick-name for her!

Cass, I mean Nurse Strawberry, was tending to Mamma Starnes last night and today, as mom has been recuperating from her knee surgery. Dad had to work today, and it sounded like a very long day for him. New schedule, 2 on, 2 off and has to work Saturdays or some mix of that. It doesn’t seem fair, but not much in this economy is lately. If you are working, you have to be content – I guess.

I called mom today, and the report was that Nurse Strawberry was doing a good job. Although I asked the nurse about giving mom and IV and she didn’t seem to recall what that was.

Just talked to mom and she sounds wiped out. I am sure dad will be too.
