Spring Break 2010

This year, our spring break was to spend over a week in Jekyll Island, GA and enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation. As it turned out, our spring break also included a trip to Townsend, TN for my sister-in-law’s wedding at the Preserve. While pulling a new 26′ camper to TN then to GA (over the Smokey mountains) provided us with a good deal of extra travel time and expense, it was still nice.

Just got some photos uploaded, and many are in need of color correction and brightness, but you can see what we did.

Some highlights include:

• Trip to Townsend, TN for Brandon and Misti’s wedding
• Pulling new camber over mountains from TN to GA (in Rachel’s dad’s 2500 GMC with 6 MPG avg!)
• Rescued 3-4 horseshoe crabs on Jekyll Island
• Visit to sea turtle recovery house on island
• Fun on beach, in ocean, building sand crabs and castles, and applying aloe
• Golf with Katie on Jekyll Island
• Dad (Roger) getting pinched by crab/lobster in ocean on sand bar on foot
• Trip to Brookgreen Gardens near Myrtle Beach, SC (from Jekyll Island in 1 day!!!)
• Trip to get BBQ for Rachel which included Roger helping cook wrap a nearly severed finger after a meat grinder accident (scary!)
• Eating out (far too often)
