Avalanche

Vehicles….

My trip to the Highway Patrol Salvage Vehicle Inspection garage in West Chester was ‘interesting’ today. Lots of peeps there, but the officers were moving them through. I guess there are a lot of us trying to repair vehicles and not buy new ones!

One ‘regular’ said they had a ’69 Mustang GT 350 there once that had been impounded for improper paperwork a few years ago. They guy said the restored car was “perfect”. I guess the restorer used two cars to make one, and did not have the papers to prove he owned them before hand, so they destroyed the car. That was very hard to hear.

When I dropped off my papers, I was told that the body shop parts I bought were not notarized and that I’d have to have that done, and return! I took the day off to do this – all of it. Thankfully a call to the shop, a call to the HP inspection group in Troy, and I was fine. Whew!

Got home to take out other vehicle in for work. The window on Avalanche stopped working on me the other day, after making some very odd sounds when rolling up/down. Our unplowed driveway was hard-packed ice after a week of driving on it, and the yard was soft snow. Rachel slid off into yard while trying to follow me to the shop, and was stuck. I got the (newly re-titled) Jimmy to pull her out. In the process, the tow strap came off the Jimmy, struck the Avalanche in the hood, and broke the bug deflector and dented the hood!

So much for a quick trip to the shop!
