Windows!

Most of you know that the house that Rachel and I bought in Wilmington, was in pretty rough condition when we got it. First we had a new roof put on. Then we had all the carpet removed and hardwood oak flooring installed. James helped us with a lot, installing new commodes, tiling one of the bathrooms, and drywalling. Our rough looking 2-car garage was converted into a sun room with windows and French doors. The one-car unattached garage was rewired with new lights, breaker box, outlets and switches.

  • The list goes on and on, lots of money but all worth the expense!

Now, we have finally been able to get an affordable price for new windows. We didn’t need a couple, but all of them!! We had almost 26 to replace, and the costs was terrible. However, once again, my good brother-in-law got a great deal on new Andersen 400 series vinyl and wood windows, and ordered them wide. This allowed us to replace two side-by-side windows with one extra wide window. So we only needed 1/2 as many. On top of that, he got us a discount, and he gave us a good price on the work (plus I know he’ll do a great job).

All this is possible, as we finally paid our Avalanche off 2 months ago!! So windows now, interior doors and trim next, then garage roof, barn repairs, driveway….someday we’ll have some extra cash. But I love this house and am thankful to God we got it!
