I stumbled into the old Engle Mill covered bridge several years ago while driving around the area where we bought our house. There are very few original covered bridges left in Ohio, and most are threatened by age, lack of care, or are just forgotten. Some are still being tended to by folks who care, but state funds are rarely available, and a few caring citizens can only do so much.

Engle Mill Road has a beautiful covered bridge on it, and it is one of the longest I’ve ever seen that has no center support. Just one continuous span. Gallery below. I’ll try to find out where there are some folks who might be able to help care for the aging structure. Perhaps you can help? If you know who is taking care of this structure, please contact me so I can help spread the word to help preserver it, and learn more about its history!
