Soggy at East Fork

Soggy at East Fork

Today there were two options:

  1. Get the driveway sealed and go riding
  2. Go riding if the weather was too iffy

The weather was iffy, showing a 60% chance of rain today, so I was not going to be able to seal the driveway. I power washed it yesterday, hoping to seal it, but it will have to wait.

So we went to East Fork state park today, just in time to hear thunder. We’d spent the past few hours getting ready to go, so I was not going back without a ride. As soon as we started, the rain came. So for just over an hour, we road in the rain and thunder, with a lightning strike just about 500 yards from us in the woods!

It was a good ride, minus the soaking rain. When we got to the day camp area, there were about 10 trucks and trailers, when we came back from the ride, there were 3. Two were waiting for the rain to stop, and the 3rd was Rachel’s dad’s truck and trailer.

I ran my knee into a tree (courtesy of the horse), and then had another step on my toe while unloading.

There is a really good reason I don’t like to ride too often. It is against me.

Busy Day!
