AMA Hall of Fame Visit
In 1998 I left my first job at Kearns Design to join the folks at Anderson-Kerr located in Downtown Dayton. While there I met Scott Bereda. Not long after taking the job he found out I had a motorcycle and our friendship began as he too had a love for motorcycles and riding. While motorcycles are currently not things we own, we continue to follow most sports with motors in them. :^)
Shortly after meeting Scott he told me that he goes to Superbike races at a track in northern Ohio called Mid-Ohio located in Lexington, Ohio. He asked if I’d be interested in going to a race sometime and I did the first chance I got. Never knowing that Ohio had such a road course, I’ve been back many years for the summer Superbike races.
I went from knowing very little about motorcycle racing to following riders like Doug Chandler, Scott Russell, Aaron Yates, Scott Jensen, Troy Corser, Miguel Duhamel, Ben Bostrom, Mat Mladin, Nicky, Tommy, and Roger Lee Hayden (brothers from Kentucky), Ben Spies, Josh Hayes, and Eric Bostrom.

From the very first time watching races at Mid-Ohio I was made aware of the letters AMA as they were all over the course – on banners, riders, car and truck bumpers, and ticket info. The AMA has been a big part of the American motorcycling experience for many years.
Today I finally got to see a museum and hall of fame for the riders (men and women) of the AMA.
The museum is located in a very picturesque setting in Pickerington, Ohio, with a nice long driveway in and a multi-story facility with motorcycles and memorabilia on display, as well as an on-site archives area. It does not take long to go through the museum but is worthwhile.
